Hello! I’m Melissa Rieke…wife, mom, photographer, blogger, and and and. I fell in love with photography when I was young and my passion for it came alive when I had my own kiddos. Gus, Lucy and Finley were my inspiration in picking up the camera again. How could I not try to capture their every moment. I would create sets in my house and make them pose, with horrible lighting and a point and shoot that only captured the moments AFTER that perfect moment! Now I don't want anyone to miss that perfect moment. So I spend my days taking pictures...and creating courses to help YOU capture those perfect moments too!

I've been unsuccessful so many times trying to learn photography basics from reading different books and websites, to taking different online courses. I just couldn't connect... My camera was always set to auto and my pictures were always blurry. I never thought I would understand things like what shutter speed, aperture, and ISO are, and how they affect my pictures. However, from the very start of the course the lessons were easy to follow and understand. Before long, I was taking pictures I was proud of on MANUAL! This course was so much different from any of the others I tried. Melissa is a wonderful instructor who was always providing feedback and answering questions. I not only gained a solid understanding but it was on a more personalized level. I highly recommend this course. It is well worthwhile whatever your skill level or experience.

Going into this course, I had a very basic understanding of exposure. I wasn't a total beginner, but had lots of room for improvement. This course was perfect for me - the mom who just wanted to learn how to take better pictures of her kid. Melissa explains things in a way that isn't too technical, but I felt like I walked away from the course with a much better comprehension of shooting in manual and finding the right light.
